Them: Stop Cholera in It’s Tracks
Cholera is a bacteria disease that is usually spread by contaminated water.
Some Symptoms of cholera includes
Diarrhea
Nausea and vomiting
Dehydration
The Ark Rural and Educational trust, a non-governmental organization, on Wednesday 20th September, 2023 offered Scholarship; Professor Alice Ndu Memorial Award to ten (10) Indigent Students of (NOCEN).
The students were drawn from different departments of the College. Beneficiaries were screened from a pool of names by the College Student’s Scholarship Committee; namely:

The representative of the foundation Mr. Emeka Ndu urged the benefiting students to use the grant judiciously to become a relief to their families and contribute to the development of the society.
In her remarks, the Provost, Dr. Ifeyinwa E. Osegbo appreciated the family of Professor Felix and Late Professor Alice Ndu for their investment in human empowerment and development.
One of the beneficiaries, Miss. Ofoeze Precious thanked the Ndu family for supporting their dreams and aspirations.
Professor Alice Ndu memorial scholarship covers tuition fees and cost of living subsidy of hundred thousand (N100,000) naira annually and an annual sum of hundred thousand (N100,000) naira for the best graduating N.C.E student in the College for the 2021/2022 academic session which was won by Mrs. Godwin Blessing. The Scholarship scheme runs for ten years.
The National Association of Awkuzu Students (NAAS) Sponsored by Ark Rural and Educational Trust visited four secondary schools in Awkuzu on the 12th Dec. 2023. Led by NAAS President Charles Chinwendum, the team, including Vice President Miss Chukwuemeka Patience and Publicity Secretary Miss Ezenwa Favour, aimed to make a positive impact.The warm reception at St Raphael’s Secondary School, Arch Bishop Maxwell Anikwenwa Secondary School, Women Education Center, and Unity Secondary School spoke volumes about the community’s enthusiasm for educational endeavors.
Addressing a unique challenge faced by Unity Secondary School, where many female SS3 students were absent due to WAEC registrations at Miracle centers, NAAS extended its outreach to SS1 and SS2 girls, ensuring inclusivity.
The key highlight was the distribution of the sanitary pads to both students and, notably, female teachers, emphasizing the importance of menstrual health. Health talks were conducted, shedding light on various aspects of menstrual well-being.
The event’s attendees included Charles Chinwendum (NAAS President), Miss Chukwuemeka Patience (NAAS Vice President and Speaker), Miss Ezenwa Favour (NAAS Publicity Secretary and Speaker), along with members Nnaemeka Chijioke, Umeohauike John, and Iferikigwe Kingsley (NAAS President 2020).
